Garver Senior Project Manager Jennifer Russell recently
presented a paper at the International Symposium of the International Council on Systems Engineering in Edinburgh, Scotland entitled “Therapy for Projects.”
She wrote the paper with employees of Rolls Royce after they
discovered a shared interest in the psychology of teams. In this paper, the team converted the
language used to evaluate and treat individual psychological conditions so that
it could be applied to projects.
“We created an evaluation tool for project teams to find
potential solutions to their challenges," said Jennifer, who has a degree
in engineering psychology. “The solutions are based on years of research into
individual psychology applied to projects as a whole.”
“This is the first step in testing the application of
individual psychology to a whole project,” she said, “but it’s resonating with
project teams. We are looking forward to validating the effectiveness of the
recommendations.”
