Garver "Lands" Design at Oklahoma Fish Hatchery

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation selected Garver to design capital improvements to the Durant State Fish Hatchery, the state's largest hatchery. The project is expected to help Oklahoma increase its annual production of Florida Black Bass from 1 million fish to 15 million.

Improvements to the 350-acre site are expected to include a new Blue River intake pump station, rehabilitation and restoration of a 100-acre reservoir, new hatchery ponds, and an advanced water treatment plant to produce high-quality water for fish reproduction.

Garver Wins Turner Turnpike Corridor Study


As the first step toward expanding 20 miles of Turner Turnpike between Bristow and Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority selected Garver to provide the corridor study. The study will include a traffic study, design alternatives to widen the turnpike to six lanes, and conceptual design plans for the preferred corridor alternative.

SAME Tulsa Post Outstanding Member

The Society of American Military Engineers-Tulsa Post has recognized Garver Regional Marketing Administrator Cindy Gran as its 2010 outstanding member for the second consecutive year. Cindy received the honor for her services as Communications Chair and Newsletter Editor. For 2011-2012, Cindy will serve as the Tulsa Post’s Programs Chair responsible for planning and coordinating monthly program meetings and organizing member and community service events.

The Society of American Military Engineers' mission is to promote and facilitate engineering support for national security by developing and enhancing relationships and competencies among uniformed services, public and private sector engineers, and related professionals.

New Professional Engineers

Nine Garver employees passed their exams and received their professional engineering licenses.

Brent Anderson, PE is an engineer in Garver's Aviation Group. Brent works in our North Little Rock, Arkansas office and has been with Garver for six years.

Colin Bible, PE is an engineer in Garver's Aviation Group. Colin works in our Frisco, Texas office and has been with Garver for five years.

Dylan Cobb, PE is an engineer in Garver's Water Group. Dylan works in our Fayetteville, Arkansas office and has been with Garver for five years.

Adam Hall, PE is an engineer in Garver's Transportation Group. Adam is in our North Little Rock, Arkansas office and has been with Garver for three years.

Fred Harper, PE is an engineer in Garver's Transportation Group. Fred is in our North Little Rock, Arkansas office and has been with Garver for four years.

Kyle Kruger, PE is an engineer in Garver's Water Group. Kyle works in our Florence, Alabama office and has been with Garver for two years.

Mary Elizabeth Mach, PE is an engineer in Garver's Water Group. Mary Elizabeth is in our Norman, Oklahoma office and has been with Garver for four years.

Wes Mittlesteadt, PE is an engineer in Garver's Aviation Group. Wes works in our Franklin, Tennessee office and has been with Garver for three years.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award

The University of Arkansas has recognized Garver mechanical engineer Paul Strickland, PE for his exceptional professional and personal achievements. The university selected Paul as a 2011 College of Engineering Outstanding Young Alumni.

The award honors engineering graduates who achieve distinction in engineering and provide leadership and service to the university's College of Engineering. Paul is a project manager in our water group, and during his seven years with Garver, he has specialized in the specification and design of industrial equipment installation, manufacturing plant layouts, machine modifications, process piping systems, and industrial ventilation. In addition, Paul is experienced in water and wastewater treatment plant projects that have included mechanical conveyance, high-service pump stations, low-pressure air systems, and piping design.

Garver Expands Texas Operations into Houston

Garver is expanding its services in Texas by opening a new office in Houston. The new office will bring Garver’s entire suite of services to the Houston area with an initial focus on the aviation market.

The office is led by Tom Dodson, PE, who has 20 years of experience in civil and aviation engineering in Texas. Tom will serve as Senior Project Manager on air carrier and general aviation airport engineering projects.

Garver’s expansion into Houston gives our firm two Texas offices and allows us to better serve our clients with aviation, water/wastewater, and transportation projects in the United States’ fourth largest market. The Houston office will serve South Texas, Southeast Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley, offering full-service planning, design, and construction oversight services.
